The Boardwalk Shops

Sheboygan’s Riverfront Boardwalk is quite the sight. See the results of weathered shanties built in the early 1900s by commercial fishermen, transformed into restaurants, art galleries and retail shops in a postcard setting.
Tour Time: 30-90 minutes
Cost: Free
Season: Year-round, although boardwalk is more pleasant in summer
Hours: Mon-Sat 10am-6pm
 

Sheboygan County Historical Museum

 

History is all wonders and memories at the Sheboygan County Historical Museum. The historic buildings include an 1850s stately brick home, 1864 log cabin homestead, 1867 cheese factory with displays relating to early commercial cheese making, and an 1890s barn filled with magnificent farming relics that will spark your interest and kindle your knowledge. Two recent building projects added 20,000 square feet for a museum store, classrooms and changing exhibits on Indian history, ice harvesting, maritime, circus, local agriculture and the related trades.

John Michael Kohler Arts Center

Nationally known art exhibits and performers fill this thriving 99,000 square foot cultural center. Nothing’s ordinary, everything’s extraordinary. The John Michael Kohler Arts Center is comprised of 11 galleries that focus on Contemporary American art and designer gardens bursting with vibrant colors. Even the six restrooms are the creation of artists as part of the Art Center’s Arts/Industry program.

Wade House & Jung Carriage Museum

Former 1850’s stagecoach inn and the home of one of America’s finest collections, featuring more than 100 vehicles.
Tour Time: 1-1.5 hours
Cost: $10/person; $9/seniors; Complimentary tours for driver and escort.
Season: May 15-Oct 17
Hours: Daily 9am-5pm. Last tour begins at 4 pm.
 

Stephanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts

The Stefanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts is the product of a complete top-to-bottom restoration of the old Sheboygan Theatre. The exquisite performance hall is home to the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra and Chorus.
