Fond du Lac - Oshkosh
Day One
9 – 10:30 am Villa Loretto Tours – Pet a llama or see the fainting
sheep at this unusual ranch run by nuns! Don’t leave without stopping
at the “Nun Better Bakery” for a fresh cookie.
11 – 11:30 am Little Farmer Orchard - Apples, cider, muffins and
pies – all of best of the season’s plus much more.
12 noon – 1 pm Lunch at Schreiner’s Restaurant in Fond du
Lac, famous for those wonderful “sticky” buns.
1:15– 1:45 pm Hounsell’s Greenhouse - Bird food and feeders,
green plants and hanging baskets, make this one of the most complete garden
centers
in the area. Add to that one of the largest selections of farm toy collectibles
in the state.
2:30 – 3:30 pm Knigge Robotic Farm – One of the few farms
in the nation that is totally automated. Enjoy a tour of this free stall
dairy barn
where the cows milk themselves!
4 – 9 pm Overnight in Oshkosh, Wisconsin with
dinner and entertainment.
Day Two
9 – 10 pm Oshkosh Public Museum – Explore the history of Winnebago
County when you visit the former home of one of Oshkosh’s Lumber Barons.
Be sure you are there on the hour to witness the Apostle’s Clock
as it performs for you.
10:30 – 12:30 pm Glen Valley Farm – Take a hayride tour,
learn about the bedding and training business, watch a horse show performed
especially for
you and enjoy an old fashion cook-out all down on the farm.
1 – 2 pm Heavy Critters Light Critters – Specializing in
unique ornamental concrete, granite and resin garden statuary.
2:30 – 3:30 pm Originals Mall of Antiques – With over 100 dealers,
Originals is quickly gaining the reputation as being the best Antique Mall north
of Chicago. Whether you are shopping for antiques or just taking a stroll down
memory lane, you’ll enjoy visit.
