Elkhart Lake Depot Museum - SHEBOYGAN COUNTY

This 100 year-old-railroad station in Elkhart Lake houses original depot furnishings and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Julaine Farrow Museum - OSHKOSH

 

This museum was established in 1973 during Winnebago Mental Health Institute’s Centennial year. What started as a two-room exhibit has today grown to 10 rooms. The museum chronicles the contributions of the early pioneers in the treatment of the mentally ill. Exhibits include photos dating back to 1875 as well as furniture and a variety of displays.

Galloway House & Village - FOND DU LAC

30-room mid-Victorian mansion boasting four fireplaces, Italianate details, and many pieces of original furniture. On-site Blakely Museum also offers extensive collection of artifacts from arrowheads to ladies’ hats. Beautiful lamplight tours in December.

Oshkosh Public Museum - OSHKOSH

Pinecrest Historical Village - MANITOWOC

Features 28 historic buildings with period furnishings and special museum exhibits that interpret farm and village life in Manitowoc County during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Special themed, catered meals are available.

Rogers Street Fishing Village - TWO RIVERS

A historic museum village and heritage park located on the banks of the East Twin River, the traditional headquarters of the Two Rivers’ commercial fishing fieet. Listen to great stories about the ghosts and shipwrecks of Lake Michigan.

Sheboygan County Historical Museum - SHEBOYGAN COUNTY

 

History is all wonders and memories at the Sheboygan County Historical Museum. The historic buildings include an 1850s stately brick home, 1864 log cabin homestead, 1867 cheese factory with displays relating to early commercial cheese making, and an 1890s barn filled with magnificent farming relics that will spark your interest and kindle your knowledge. Two recent building projects added 20,000 square feet for a museum store, classrooms and changing exhibits on Indian history, ice harvesting, maritime, circus, local agriculture and the related trades.

Morgan House - OSHKOSH

Walk through the doors of the past into this perfect reflection of upper middle class Victorian living. Built in 1994, this lumber baron’s home exhibits a variety of woods detailed with artistic hand carving, gilding, and faux painting with bordered hardwood floors. Come and enjoy the ambience of this setting which has been made complete with period furnishings, extending outdoors to seasonal gardens.

Nativity Collection - OSHKOSH

The collection is located in the lower level of Algoma Boulevard United Methodist Church. It features over 900 nativities constructed of everything and anything from straw to porcelain.

OCTOGON HOUSE - FOND DU LAC

 

This National Registered Historic Home is first and foremost a private residence.   Constructed on an established 1814 settlement and trading post, this 12 room grout home became the wedding gift to Edwin Brown (son of Isaac) and his bride Ruth Pier, as residence until his death in the battle of Antietam, in 1862.  The Octagon House features 9 secret passageways including an underground tunnel used for a safe house in the "underground railroad."   Today this house is at the head of Fond du Lac's Historic District, preserving history for generations to come. www.octagonhousefdl.com
